Poor quality healthcare is one of the main causes of health inequalities and avoidable deaths in people with a learning disability. Despite research highlighting the challenges people with a learning disability face in accessing Primary Care, and the initiatives created which aim at reducing those health inequalities, such as Annual Health Checks, problems and barriers remain.
We are delighted to be able to share with you a project that we have been working on in partnership with Surrey Heartlands ICS Research Team, NHS and Strange Beast, to address this issue.
Our partners have shared their personal experiences in a short animation video to highlight these issues and empower Primary Care staff to take positive action.

Since it's release, we are delighted that our animation has been awarded judges prize for best animated documentary at The London Animation Festival (December 2022).
