We have been very busy at Sunnybank lately. Here is a roundup of all the festive things we've enjoyed.
Ignite at Polesden Lacey Trip
On Sunday 6th November 2022, a large group of us went to Polesden Lacey in Bookham for their Annual ‘Ignite’ Light Trail Event. We split up into smaller groups, looked at the lights and some of us got some food & drinks halfway. There was more stuff for us to look at this year including scenes on Fairy Tales and a Giant Chess Board scene.
Christmas Movies with Mates
From Monday 21st November, we had our weekly Movies with Mates Club on Zoom where we watched Christmas films (on the 21st November, we watched The Muppets Christmas Carol, on the 28th November, we watched Beauty and the Beast – the Enchanted Christmas, on the 5th December we watched Home Alone and then last week (12th December), we watched Noelle) and everyone really enjoyed the films
Alex’s Christmas Pub Quiz
On Friday 25th November, Choices Officer Alex hosted a Christmas-themed Pub Quiz on Zoom which everyone enjoyed.
Epsom Christmas Light Switch-On
On Sunday 27th November, a small group of us braved the wet weather and went to the Epsom Winter Family Festival & Christmas Light Switch-On in Epsom Marketplace! We had a stall where we did a Santa’s Sock Tombola and managed to raise lots of money and met some interesting people (including a few magical mischievous elves!)
Christmas SWAG Disco
On Tuesday 6th December, we had our Christmas SWAG Disco where DJ Magic Martin played our favourite Christmas & Party Songs, everyone was up on the dancefloor enjoying themselves and most people came in Santa Hats and/or Christmas Jumpers!
Rotary Carols & Bucket Collection
On Wednesday 7th December a few of the Sunnybank Staff & Volunteers braved the cold weather and did Bucket Collecting & Carol Singing with the Rotary Club of Ewell through the streets of Stoneleigh and West Ewell! We have another collection on 21st December - please come and say hello if you see us.
Santa’s Grotto
Last Tuesday (13th December), we had our 2nd Santa’s Grotto where everyone that attended got to meet Santa and got a present, there was hot chocolate & Mince Pies and Christmas Craft Activities! It was a very busy night end everyone left feeling very Festive!
Sunnybank Staff Christmas Lunch & Secret Santa
Last Wednesday (14th December), the Sunnybank Office Team went to the Grumpy Mole in Epsom for our Annual Christmas Lunch & Secret Santa! Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we all left feeling as Stuffed as a Turkey!
What are we Looking Forward to in 2023?
On Tuesday 3rd January 2023, a large group of us are going to see the Relaxed Performance of the Dick Whittington Pantomime at Epsom Playhouse!
On Friday 6th January 2023, our weekly Pub Quiz returns!
On the week of the 9th of January 2023, our regular activities are returning (including Movies with Mates, Coffee & Chat, SWAG Club, Drama and many more!)
